There are different ways to perform the maintenance.
The three main types are: Preventive Maintenance: This is done to improve the lifespan of pavement. So this strategy uses surface treatments to reduce the need for frequent work.
Corrective Maintenance: When the surface becomes to slick or cracked this may be used. This will help to correct a deficiency in the pavement. It usually only provides a temporary solution.
Emergency Maintenance: This is for when the pavement has a severe damage. Such as a pothole or blowout. This treatment is used until further repairs can be performed.
